US President Donald Trump and Democratic Party challenger Joe Biden squared off in a tense first presidential debate on September 29, 2020. The live television appearance from Cleveland in the US state of Ohio included heated debate about Covid-19, the US economy, and the candidates’ individual records, as well as issues related to race and the integrity of the election itself. The men will face each other two more times before US voters go to the polls to select their next president on November 3.
