IPCC releases 6th synthesis report on global climate change | LIVE
CA, 20 Mar 2023
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will release the final installment of its sixth synthesis report (AR6), a key scientific assessment and summary for policymakers that will be used by governments to set climate targets and policies.
The report recaps global scientists' findings from previous publications, including the impacts of global warming and assesses nations' progress on cutting greenhouse gas emissions.
The report will focus on drastic actions governments should take to stave off the disastrous consequences of climate change and warn of nearing “irreversible” levels of global heating as catastrophic impacts of the changing climate become clearer.
