Students from the Future University Hakodate in northern Japan have helped to develop a full face mask that displays the wearer's face as an anime-style avatar. The mask, named “Digital Kamen e2-MaskZ”, is equipped with photo reflective sensors that can detect and recreate facial expressions on screen.
The project is a joint international programme with contributions from students at Future University Hakodate and Keio University in Tokyo, as well as University College London in the United Kingdom.
