Joining a protest outside the U.K. Royal Courts of Justice on Wednesday, Julian Assange’s partner, Stella Moris, asked that the court deny a new request by U.S. lawyers that he be extradited. She called on the court to “end this nightmare.”

The 50-year-old former Wikileaks founder is wanted in the U.S. on 17 espionage charges and one count of computer misuse, after his group published a trove of secret classified files and diplomatic cables in 2010.

The U.S. is appealing a Jan. 4 ruling by a London District Judge that Assange should not be extradited because he would likely die by suicide in a U.S. prison.

Moris says she is concerned for Assange’s health after visiting him in Belmarsh Prison on Saturday, Oct. 23.

A court was told Assange, who denies any wrongdoing, felt too unwell to appear via video link, but did appear later in the day.
