Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday responded to Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet's claim that he is "governing like a king," who said that Trudeau has no respect for parliament and is "doing nothing for Quebec".

Trudeau responded by saying decisions made in parliament need to be made on a "majority" basis and that it does operate as a democracy.

Earlier, Blanchet argued reduced House of Commons sittings aren’t required any longer as more restrictions to curb the spread of COVID-19 are lifted, telling reporters: “But we see that the Liberals are attempting to make the special rules last as long as they can in order to handle issues like if they were something between a majority government and the rule of a king.”
