The African Economic Outlook 2022 released by the African Development Bank makes dire reading as Africa's economy bears the brunt of the pandemic while global geopolitical uncertainty undermines its potential for growth. The Hub with Wang Guan looks into some of the pressing economic challenges facing the continent. What role can China play in boosting South-South cooperation? Wang Guan talks to Sandrine Nduwimana, Director of International Liaison at China Africa Business Council, and Professor Wang Jinjie, from the National School of Development and Institute of South-South Cooperation and Development at Peking University. They say that opportunities abound and cooperation is a priority to keep the development momentum going. Wang Guan also talks to Abdoulkader Houssein Mohamed, from the Institute of Political and Strategic Studies under Djibouti's Ministry of Higher Education and Research, to look at China-Djibouti exemplary ties and discuss China's PLA logistical support facility in the region that stirred up controversy in the West.
