Lava flow destroys 100 homes after La Palma volcano eruption

Around 100 homes have been destroyed by lava after a volcano on the Canary island of La Palma erupted.

More than 5,000 people were evacuated ahead of the eruption after warnings from scientists.

The lava, which has been moving at a speed of 700 metres per hour, is expected to continue flowing for weeks or months, according to scientists.
