McDonald’s in Indonesia has been swamped with demand for a food item known as ‘The BTS Meal’, named after the hit South Korean K-pop group. It launched on June 9, 2021, causing frenzied buying by K-pop fans. Many outlets across the country were swamped by delivery drivers, forcing some to close shortly after the meal was launched over concerns they could become Covid-19 hotspots.
