Merry Christmas? Not for the hundreds of hungry Milanese who were filmed queuing for free meals at a charity on Saturday morning.
Pane Quotidiano is a non-profit organization whose goal is to offer ‘A meal to those in need, every day.’ And it seems those in need are growing in numbers.
With an already shaky global economy rocked even harder by a global pandemic and its associated lockdowns, the people waiting patiently in line for the charity’s services are a fraction of those people around the world whose lives have become increasingly less merry as poverty and unemployment rates soar.
