It’s the worst violence between Israelis and Palestinians in years - a deadly flare-up between the Israeli army and the Palestinian militant group Hamas that is also taking a toll in mixed Arab-Jewish cities within Israel. After violent clashes at the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, the rocket fire from Gaza began, with Hamas targeting Tel Aviv and other places in Israel. Israel's military responded with air strikes on Hamas command centers as well as Gaza's transport and medical system. More than 200 Palestinians, including children, are dead, tens of thousands displaced, and at least 12 Israelis have lost their lives.
