CCTV shows a bus driver and a passenger shooting at one another while in transit in North Carolina earlier in May.

Footage released by Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) shows suspect Omarri Shariff Tobias and driver David Fullard engaging in a shootout over what police say was an argument about Tobias demanding he be allowed to disembark at an undesignated stop.

Tobias has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injuries, communicating threats, and carrying a concealed firearm. Police have not yet told CATS whether they plan to charge Fullard, who has since been dismissed from his job.

Both men were hospitalised with injuries.
