Myanmar’s latest Covid-19 surge has been worsened by a shortage of medical workers, many of whom have been detained or have gone underground to avoid arrest because of their involvement in anti-military coup protests. The rise in Covid-19 deaths has led to medical volunteers making more trips to the cemetery than to hospitals.
