Noel Clarke: Organisations should look carefully at conduct before giving awards, says minister
Telegraph, 30 Apr 2021
Bafta has admitted that it honoured Noel Clarke, the actor and film-maker, with an outstanding contribution award despite receiving multiple allegations that he had abused and sexually harassed women.
Safeguarding minister Victoria Atkins said on LBC radio that organisations should look carefully at people's conduct before giving them awards.
The actor, currently starring in the ITV drama Viewpoint, received the award for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema at the ceremony last month. He denies the allegations.
