More than two weeks after his death, George Floyd has been laid to rest in a Houston cemetery.
Friends and family celebrated his life in a funeral that lasted for four and a half hours.
He was involuntarily cast in the role of a civil rights icon when a Minneapolis policeman knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes.
His death has inspired protests that continue today across the United States, and in countries as far away as Senegal.

Al Jazeera’s John Hendren reports from Houston, where Floyd grew up.
