Ontario's chief medical officer of health Dr. Kieran Moore and associate chief medical officer of health Dr. Barbara Yaffe will provide an update Tuesday on the province's COVID-19 cases and vaccination progress.

Ontario will move into Step 3 of its COVID-19 reopening plan on July 16, nearly a week earlier than the previously expected date.

“Step 3 focuses on the safe resumption of additional indoor services with larger numbers of people, but with restrictions in place,” Moore said in the announcement.

Indoor dining will be allowed with physical distancing, while gyms, museums, cinemas and event spaces can open at 50 per cent capacity.
