Organiser of Tiananmen Square vigil released on bail: 'A completely absurd charge'

Hong Kong activist Chow Hang Tung was released from police detention on bail on Saturday, a day after her arrest.

As she walked out of the police station Chow, Vice Chairperson of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China, said that the "absurd" charges against her were an "abuse of power".

On Friday police said that they arrested a 36-year-old woman from the Hong Kong Alliance as she was publicising an unauthorised assembly via social media despite the police ban on an annual candlelight vigil to commemorate the deadly 1989 crackdown.
