Phuket, one of Thailand’s most popular island resorts, embarked on a mass Covid-19 vaccination drive on April 1, 2021, as it prepares to reopen to foreign tourists. The island aims to inoculate at least 460,000 people – most of its population – ahead of July 1, when vaccinated overseas visitors will no longer be required to undergo quarantine.
