PM calls boarding up of Winston Churchill statue 'shameful'
Sky, 13 Jun 2020
Boris Johnson has said it is 'absurd and shameful' that a statue of Winston Churchill has had to be boarded up because of fears it could be vandalised.
The monument in Parliament Square was boxed up ahead of a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest on Friday evening.
A demonstration planned for Saturday was pulled forward by a day due to fears there could be clashes with far-right groups.
