Prince Philip laid to rest at Windsor Castle: Key moments

DW, 17 Apr 2021
Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh - husband of Britain's Queen Elizabeth the Second for more than seven decades - has been laid to rest.
He died just short of his 100th birthday. Coronavirus restrictions meant that only 30 close family members and friends attended his funeral at Windsor Castle.
The ceremony reflected the Prince's close ties with the armed forces. Prince Philip saw active service with the Royal Navy during World War Two - and was renowned for his decades of public service. His body was carried to the chapel on a modified Land Rover that he designed himself. Britain's longest-serving royal consort was at the Queen's side during a record-breaking reign that began in 1952. He died after being treated in hospital for a heart condition.
