Britain’s Royal Air Force Typhoon and Lightning jets have conducted their largest-ever mass firing of air-to-air missiles in exercises that shot down 53 target drones over Scotland.

Video released by the Military of Defence showed the manoeuvres which took place over the space of 10 days, with pilots from eight different squadrons launching a total of 53 missiles.

The Missile Practice Camp took place over the sea in the Hebrides Air Weapon Ranges last month and was the largest mass firing of the infra-red guided Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missiles (ASRAAM) from Typhoon and Lightning jets.
