Sarah Everard vigil: Sadiq Khan calls for clarity so ‘women can protest lawfully and safely’
Telegraph, 12 Mar 2021
London mayor Sadiq Khan said he understood why some people wanted the planned vigil for Sarah Everard to take place, but he called for a different approach.
"The concern the police have understandably is that we are still in the middle of the lockdown and the regulations are there." Khan said.
"There are girls, women and others who want to protest lawfully and safely" however.
Police confirmed on Friday they have found the body of Sarah Everard, a young London woman who went missing nine days ago.
