Saudi Arabia restricts hajj pilgrimage over pandemic

Saudi Arabia has banned international visitors from making this year’s hajj pilgrimage at the end of July. Only a limited number of people from within the Kingdom will be allowed to attend in efforts to reduce the potential spread of contagion. The announcement added to disappointment for Muslims around the world, who invest huge sums and face long waits to go on hajj.
