Scheer says Trudeau avoiding questions on WE Charity scandal by not appearing in Parliament | FULL

CA, 20 Jul 2020
MPs are back in action on Parliament Hill today, but Prime Minister Justin Trudeau won't be there.

The House of Commons is sitting so the Liberals can pass a bill to extend their wage-subsidy program.

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer is accusing Trudeau of hiding because of the scandal over his family's involvement in the WE Charity initially being awarded a sole-source contract to run a student volunteer program.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is facing an investigation for conflict of interest after his government awarded WE Charity Canada a contract to manage a $912 million grant program aimed at helping students during the coronavirus pandemic.

Trudeau has admitted he should have recused himself from the decision to award the contract, given his family’s links to the group co-founded by brothers Craig and Marc Kielburger.
