Several parts of the Rocky Mountains dealt with some unexpected weather Monday and Tuesday, as parts of Colorado, New Mexico, Idaho and Wyoming saw heavy snow coat parts of each state and temperatures drop.

Denver, Colorado recorded a temperature drop of 34C to 0C between Monday and Tuesday. Some parts of Idaho, Utah and Wyoming even saw power outages with a utility reporting almost 200,000 customers without power, and portions of Interstate 80 were closed.

Six inches, or 15 centimetres, or more of snow could still fall in the northern and central Rockies, with one to two feet possible in its highest peaks.
