After more than 26.9 million cases and 307,00 deaths, India’s infection rate is showing signs of easing. But the country still has a long battle ahead to contain this second wave. Unicef India representative Dr Yasmin Ali Haque says that Covid-19 is posing a child-rights crisis that risks having a lasting impact. According to government figures, nearly 12 per cent of the cases in India involve patients under the age of 20. She says that millions of children are missing out on critical health care and education because of the pandemic.
