Sports Direct CFO: 'Cummings fiasco led to government pushing back shops opening'
Sky, 07 Jun 2020
The CFO of Sports Direct, Chris Wootton, said the Dominic Cummings scandal “led to the government panicking” and delayed the re-opening of stores, which he had expected to happen on 1 June.
He also said the company paid all of its staff in full during April and May – including those on zero-hours contracts.
“There aren’t many retailers that did that,” he told Sophy Ridge.
