A suicide bombing at a packed Shia mosque in Afghanistan killed more than 70 people on October 8, 2021, local health officials told Reuters. More than 140 were injured in the explosion that detonated during the crowded Friday prayers, according to state-run Bakhtar News Agency.
Isis-K, a Sunni Muslim extremist group affiliated with Islamic State, has claimed responsibility for the attack in the northern city of Kunduz.
