Texas governor signs 'fetal heartbeat' abortion ban

Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed a bill banning abortions as early as six weeks of pregnancy. The new law is part of a wave of similar ‘heartbeat’ abortion bans passed in Republican-led states and is intended to undermine the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that legalized abortion nationwide.
