Tokyo Olympics: Race walker Jesús Ángel García retires after competing at record eighth Games

Jesús Ángel García, the #Spanish race walker, is to retire after today becoming the first person to compete in a track and field event at eight Olympics.The 51-year-old from #Madrid, who has taken part in every Games since #Barcelona 1992, brought the curtain down on his career by finishing 35th in the men’s 50km race walk, which was moved to Sapporo, some 700 miles north of #Tokyo, to take advantage of lower temperatures and humidity.
