President Donald Trump repeated a claim he made earlier in the day on Monday that the U.S. treasury should get a “very large percentage” of the sale from TikTok’s operations in the United States, stating that the government is “making it possible.”

Trump reversed course on a decision to ban the short-video platform from the United States after Microsoft officially expressed interest in acquiring TikTok from parent company ByteDance.

The president said he would ban TikTok on Sept. 15 if a deal was not made, citing national security concerns.
