Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer remembered the “brilliant mind” of the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Monday, calling her “a rebellious force” in U.S. history.

Schumer told the Senate Bader Ginsburg had “changed the world for women long before the rest of the world caught up."

The senior Democrat in the Senate also took aim at Mitch McConnell for seeking to push through U.S. Donald Trump’s nomination for the vacant Supreme Court seat against Bader Ginsburg’s “most fervent wish” that her seat not be filled until after the election.

Schumer said Trump’s nominee would “tear down everything Justice Ginsburg has built.”
