Trump SCOTUS pick Amy Coney Barrett says she'll serve "faithfully and impartially" | FULL SPEECH

CA, 27 Sep 2020
U.S. Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett said she was “deeply honoured” Saturday after being picked for the nation's top court, and said if she was confirmed, she would be “mindful” of who came before her in justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

She also said her policy on law is that of her mentor, the late Supreme Court justice Antonin Scalia, that judges are not policy-makers and must “apply the law as written.” She said if confirmed, she would assume the role to serve Americans and would “administer justice without respect to persons” and do so faithfully and impartially.

Coney Barrett also joked about being the “ninth justice,” saying she's used to being in a group of nine as that is how many are in her family, with her husband and seven children.
