Explosions rocked Kyiv in the early hours of Monday (May 30) as the city was targeted in an early morning attack by Russia that killed at least one person and injured four.

"The attack was massive, came from different directions, in several waves," said military administration. Explosions and gunfire could be heard throughout the city in what was Russia's third attack on it in 24 hours.

Russia has launched a series of attacks on Kyiv in May using a combination of drones and missiles, mostly at night in order to inflict psychological distress on people, said city officials.

The attack marks the second deadly assault on the Ukrainian capital in May and 17th since the start of the month.
