UN: COVID-19 will increase humanitarian needs in 2021

The United Nations is warning that a record 235 million people will require humanitarian aid over the coming year - an increase of 40 percent over last year's figure.
The global body is appealing for $35bn and says the need for food and other assistance has grown more urgent because of the coronavirus pandemic.
