Security at the U.S. Capitol is facing intense scrutiny after an angry mob of Donald Trump supporters stormed the building on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, a large rally of the outgoing President of the United States’ supporters gathered in Washington, D.C., as Congress met to certify president-elect Joe Biden’s win.

Hours later, chaos ensued as Trump supporters broke through barriers and charged into the U.S. Capitol building.

As Jackson Proskow reports, the breach has spawned questions about the preparations that were in place beforehand: how protesters were able to enter the U.S. Capitol buildings in droves? And why tougher security wasn't in place with weeks to prepare for this well-publicized event?
