US President Biden hopeful Israeli-Gaza escalating violence to ‘come to conclusion soon’

The UN Security Council held another meeting on Wednesday over the escalating Israeli-Palestinian violence, but did not agree on a joint statement, reportedly due to Israel’s key ally: the United States. But US President Joe Biden said he spoke to Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, asserting Biden’s unwavering support for Israel’s “right to defend itself”. He also expressed optimism that the violence could “come to a conclusion soon”.
