The UK and US have agreed to help Australia develop nuclear-powered submarines under a new partnership they are calling the 'Indo-Pacific Security Alliance'.
Dubbed AUKUS, the agreement is seen as a way to counter China's influence in the region.
The leaders of all three nations said that the submarines would be nuclear powered but insisted that they would not carry any nuclear weapons.
