Nearly 2 million people had been vaccinated in India as of January 25, 2021, about a week after the country launched the world’s largest Covid-19 vaccination drive. But even with airplanes and trucks rushing millions of doses of vaccines across the country from vaccine factories to the most remote villages, the coronavirus vaccination drive is behind schedule. The latest obstacle is the fact that about a third of recipients have failed to turn up for appointments due to their concerns about the safety of the jabs.
