Why do we need museums? What important role do they play?

"A museum should be a window and a platform for the transmission of culture," said Zhu Yarong, vice director of the Sanxingdui Museum. "Here at the Sanxingdui Museum, we are presenting a culture of great importance in the development of Chinese civilization."

Sanxingdui is regarded as one of the most important historical sites in the world, due its vast scale, great age and trove of unique ancient relics. As a museum of the Sanxingdui archaeological site, which played a significant role in the development of Chinese civilization, Sanxingdui Museum presents this culture.
