FRANCE24, 07 Apr 2022
More is emerging of what happened when towns around Kyiv were under Russian occupation after heavy bombardment. Ukraine's president is warning that there are more shocking revelations to come. The Ukrainian president is warning that the deaths in Bucha could be only the beginning and says he has intelligence that even more civilians had been killed in places like nearby Borodyanka.
Bucha, Borodyanka: Two satellite towns around Kyiv left destroyed by the Russian invasion. Their residents are traumatised. Sergei Lavrov, Russia's foreign minister and mouthpiece of Vladimir Putin to the world has called the allied reaction to the revelations of atrocities in Bucha "hysteria." He has used the now recognised Russian denial and deflect blame method.
Antonio Guterres has called for an independent investigation of all incidents in Ukraine. The Secretary General of the United Nations spoke of deep shock at the eyewitness testimony of violence perpetrated by Russian troops beyond the limits of the Geneva Convention.
