WATCH: Biden accepts Democratic party nomination for president, promises to push 'hope over fear'
PBS, 21 Aug 2020
Joe Biden officially accepted the Democratic party nomination on Aug. 20, the final night of the Democratic National Convention. He promised to be an “ally of the light, not the darkness,” and said he’d push for hope over fear, and facts over fiction. The former vice president said he’d work as hard for the Americans who don't vote for him as for those who do should he win the election, and stressed that “this is not a partisan moment, this must be an American moment.” The coronavirus pandemic upended both parties’ traditional conventions. Instead of in-person. events, the program each night features a number of speakers and musical performances virtually across the country.
