GasBuddy’s Patrick De Haan said that Georgia and the Carolinas — the most affected areas of the country — could see gas shortages for up to two weeks following the cyberattack on the Colonial Pipeline system. In those states, it could take seven to 14 days before drivers are able to fill up without checking fuel availability ahead of time. “Even though the pipeline is flowing,” De Haan said it would still be a headache to find gas for the next couple of weeks. He joined the PBS NewsHour’s William Brangham on Thursday to discuss the cyberattack and continued gas shortages throughout the U.S.
