WATCH: Gloria Steinem says democracy is at stake in the current battle over voting rights

PBS, 19 Aug 2020
Feminist writer, author and activist Gloria Steinem said on Aug. 18 that "democracy" is at stake in the battle over voting rights and access this election year. Steinem said that President Donald Trump, who has recently targeted the U.S. Postal Service and criticized mail-in voting, is "trying to eliminate or reduce our opportunity to vote" because "he knows that if we actually vote, he's out." "We used to say go to vote. Now we say fight to vote," Steinem said. Steinem spoke with PBS NewsHour anchor and managing editor Judy Woodruff on the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which guaranteed American women the right to vote.
