WATCH: How Trump could boost support among Black, Hispanic voters
PBS, 28 Aug 2020
Political analyst Shermichael Singleton said that President Donald Trump could benefit from zeroing in on earning more support from African American and Hispanic voters, particularly those concerned about Democratic nominee Joe Biden and vice presidential pick Kamala Harris’ platform on issues such as criminal justice reform. Although Trump does not have wide margins of support among Black and Hispanic voters, Singleton noted that he performed better with these demographics in 2016 than previous Republican nominee Mitt Romney. “I just don’t think this is a shoe-in for" Biden, Singleton said. Singleton spoke with PBS NewsHour political reporter Daniel Bush on the final night of the Republican National Convention.
