“How do you make a broken family whole? The same way you make a broken nation whole,” Dr. Jill Biden said in an address to Democrats on Aug. 18, during the second night of the Democratic National Convention. Biden said her husband Joe was fighting for the “soul of America” -- a country whose heart “still beats with kindness and courage.” The coronavirus pandemic upended both parties’ traditional conventions. Instead of in-person events, the program each night features a number of speakers and musical performances virtually across the country.
