First lady Melania Trump delivered a message specifically to parents struggling to raise their children in a world whose challenges are frequently evolving. “Like everyone in this country, I feel that there are so many lessons to teach our son .... but there are just not enough hours in the day to do it all,” Trump said, speaking on the second night of the Republican National Convention on Aug. 25, 2020. She assured parents, specifically mothers, that, “In my husband, you have a president who will not stop fighting for you and your families.” The party planned a mix of virtual and in-person events in North Carolina and Washington, D.C., for its nominating convention after the coronavirus pandemic interrupted plans for a traditional nominating event.
