WATCH: S.G. Goodman on how music can be a medium for change
PBS, 26 Sep 2020
Singer-songwriter S.G. Goodman, who grew up in a small Western Kentucky town and still lives in the area, makes no apologies for her political activism. Her debut solo album, released earlier this year, is both an homage to and a critique of rural America. Now, she’s using her voice and social media to try to bring attention to social justice issues. She says music has always been a medium for change and wishes other artists would use their platforms to encourage their fans to be more involved in the political process.
"I feel like, historically, music has been a medium for change," Goodman told the PBS NewsHour.
