Sen. Tom Cotton spoke on the final night of the Republican National Convention on Aug. 27, 2020. He spoke about Trump’s policies and contrasted them to Biden’s, including on military spending, which he falsely claimed was on the decline when Trump took office. Cotton also accused Biden of opposing the mission that killed Osama Bin Laden in 2011. Biden has told multiple versions of the advice he gave to President Barack Obama on the issue: one in which he advised the president not to go, and another where he advised Obama to follow his instincts. Cotton also accused Biden of coddling "socialist dictators in Cuba." Biden has criticized the country's records on human rights.
