White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany is expected to hold a media briefing on Thursday, a day after pro-Trump supporters broke into the U.S. Capitol building, pausing ratification of president-elect Joe Biden's electoral victory.

Four people died over the course of the riot. One woman was shot in the chest by Capitol Police and taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Three others died, according to authorities, as the result of medical emergencies though no additional details have been provided.

In the wake of the chaos at the U.S. Capitol, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is calling for President Donald Trump's removal from office through the 25th amendment.
