White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany holds press briefing | LIVE
CA, 01 Oct 2020
White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is expected to hold a media briefing on Thursday, days after the first presidential debate between President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee and former vice-president Joe Biden.
The two candidates sparred over the coronavirus pandemic, job losses, city violence and how the Supreme Court will shape the future of the nation's health care.
It could be considered what was the most chaotic presidential debate in recent years, with both men frequently talking over each other with Trump interrupting, nearly shouting, so often that Biden eventually snapped at him, "Will you shut up, man?"
Trump also refused to directly condemn white supremacists during the debate Tuesday, but told reporters on Wednesday he does not "know who the Proud Boys are," adding that "...whoever they are they have to stand down [and] let law enforcement do their work."
Weeks away from the presidential elections, the U.S. is leading the world in COVID-19 cases, with over 7 million cases.
